I was asked to help with a meternity photo shoot for Linn and Marcus. I happily accepted! It is always fun and educational to practice with my camera equipment in a more serious context. These images are important for them so it’s important to reach the best possible result.Continue reading
My father-in-law and I go on moose safaris sometimes. We might take a car and drive around hoping to see moose or other wildlife. We also know of a couple of places where it’s pretty easy to spot moose during the summer months. On one of the trips to one of these places I saw something I’ve never seen before in my life.Continue reading
In my first post in this blog I compared a selection of RAW converters. I wanted to find out what to use after Adobe introduced the subscription model for their tools. My conclusion that time was that Capture One would fit my needs the best. Now I was curious about what DxO had done since then and thought; why not create a blog post about this?Continue reading
On my way home today I passed by the local bathing place called Ingestrand. I saw some very nice reflections on the wet ice on the lake. So I quickly drove home and fetched my camera.Continue reading
Winter came eventually. The lake froze mid January this year. I haven’t had much time for photography projects lately. Mostly, the cameras have been used for taking family photos. That was the main reason for investing in a new camera system.Continue reading
A year or so ago I invested in a so called full format system. I chose to go with Sony for a number of reasons. One of them was that I was not happy with how Nikon and Canon went into the mirrorless market.Continue reading
I was asked to photograph Isa in her prom dress. Of course I accepted. It was a perfect opportunity to take portrait shots with off-camera flashes. This is something I have to practice on. It was a pretty short 30 minutes session so once again I had to be able to think quickly.Continue reading
I was invited as one of two photographers to Susanne and Martin’s wedding. I accepted since this would give me nice training and hopefully some added images to my portfolio. My task was to follow the bride’s preparations, then join the groom for the meeting. After that it was time for the ceremony and finally the reception. So my whole day was booked basically. I’m sharing some of the images in this blog post.
For a good while I’ve thought of getting a flash system for my camera. I own an Olympus OM-D E-M5 (mark I) so there weren’t all that many alternatives to choose from. I wanted an off-camera system first of all and I had heard a lot of good things about Godox.
Godox is a Chinese manufacturer of photo lighting systems and accessories. They are sold under the Godox brand and under a number of other brands like Flashpoint and Cheetah. Their newer lights and flashes share the same radio system with built-in receivers. So it’s very convenient. You only need a transmitter for your camera brand to be able to control the lights. The Godox ecosystem is very well priced. That is always a plus.Continue reading
